The dazzling beauty of microscopic pollen
In the main exhibition room showcasing “Wonder of Micro World”, as many as 60 pieces of narrow bezel displays have been used to build the largest 556 inch video wall in Taiwan. After assembly, the bezel between each adjoining display is only 1.8mm in width. The almost seamless video wall featuring high-definition display technology will offer visitors an unprecedented visual feast.
AUO and the National Taiwan Museum chose plants that are common in and representative of Taiwan, and used microscopic photographs of more than 30 types of pollen as material for unique films of flowers and pollen in movement. The films were made with special effects, animation, and compositing.
The pollen and flowers are the main characters. At times they perform a solo dance as mysterious and elegant as a planet whirling through space, and at other times they dance together in kaleidoscopic glory. The ever-changing imagery takes the viewers into a dazzling, dream-like microscopic world that will awe them visually and open their hearts to the wonders of plant life.
